Visiting a lotus farm in Siem Reap Cambodia, I came across this boy working, collecting flowers and stems. He came over and surprised me by offering me a lotus flower. He stopped his exhausting daily work to offer me a lotus flower! I cannot describe the emotion I felt. I didn’t expect to be surprised like this. I still get emotional to this day when I remember the scene. I am no longer used to seeing people take their precious time to observe life and offer nothing to anyone without expecting something in return.

Visitando uma fazenda de lótus em Siem Reap no Camboja, me deparei com esse garoto trabalhando, colectando flores e as hastes. Ele aproximou-se e surpreendeu-me oferecendo-me uma flor de lotus. Parou o seu exaustivo trabalho diário para oferecer-me uma flor de lótus! Não consigo descrever a emoção que senti. Não imaginava ser surpreendida dessa maneira. Fico emocionada até os dias hoje quando lembro-me da cena. Já não estou habituada a ver as pessoas pararem o seu precioso tempo para observar a vida e oferecer nada a ninguém sem esperar algo em troca.
